So i’m committed to competing in the World Kobudo Federation’s Sport Jiu Jitsu tournament in Quebec City on May 1st, 2010. The weight division I am striving to fall into is the “light weight division”… that’s 150 lbs or less. If I weigh in even 1 lbs over 150 lbs, I’ll be placed in the welter weight division ranging from 151 lbs to 170 lbs. A 20 lbs range is rather large for a competitive bout… the professional weight divisions or boxing, mma and other martial arts is usually about 10 lbs maybe 15 lbs.
At any rate, I don’t have much fat to lose at all really, just about 5 lbs of baby fat on the lower abdomen. I just weighed myself on the scale now and I’m hovering at 150 lbs. I’m fully dressed and have a full stomach having had dinner not long ago, but to be on the safe side I’d like to shoot for 145 lbs with zero body fat.
I’m hoping to take those measly 5 lbs on my stomach (the hardest ft to get rid of – that last 10%) and burn it into ripping abs. My stomach and my back are probably my weakest muscle groups and generally speaking, the most important muscle groups for any fighter.
The stomach is generally the first place that cramps up when you’re low on air and it plays an important roll in every kick, every punch and every throw.
With a strong stomach I’ll have better kicks and with a stronger back I’ll have better throws. Should the fight ever end up grappling on the ground, my stomach and back are going to be the only hope of survival should I be out-weighed and/or out-skilled.
Now you may or may not have heard of a new Hollywood secret known as ACAI… typically taken in the form of a cocktail. Rumour has it that all the Spartan soldiers in the movie 300 were taking some form of ACAI as part of their regime for those Godly abs and incredibly defined back muscles… the hardest muscle groups to define in the human body.
The video above was shot about a week ago and since then I’ve been taking the pills once before going to bed. I’ve noticed that every morning I wake now I have a splendid time on the thrown. As expected of an antioxidant like the Acai Elite pills I’m taking. It’s essentially an exotic fruit that flushes out your system like prune juice :p
I will say this much though, i am feeling a little more dehydrated so I’m having to drink a lot more water. But on the plus side, I am noticing more definition in my stomach area without working out any harder
So until the fight finally comes I will weigh myself each week and monitor the changes while keeping to the same lifestyle and workout regime but now incorporating the Acai Elite Diet pills… stay tuned.
